As we all tuck new tennis racquets under the Christmas Tree for our loved ones, dreams of sugar plum fairies fade to the warmth of whacking a tennis ball at our opponent on a hot summer day at Rosedale! We know that may seem a long way off but it truly will be here before you know it.

Last season ended with exciting tennis action at the club championships. The women's doubles was a tough final with Teresa Zankowicz and Susie Nation coming out on top over Eli Taylor and Brenda Bent.

Rosedale's most eligible bachelor, Nick Gallus, lost a tough three setter to Darcy Finaly in the semis of the men's singles. Darcy met his match in the finals against our own president David Tasker who won the final!

Congratulations to the winners!

The mixed doubles semi was another really close match. Marianne Tasker and Ellis Nicolson (yes he might be related to Richard if anyone is asking), squeaked by Eli Taylor and Bill DeLuce—the best looking doubles partnership ever to grace the Rosedale courts. The mixed double final between Brenda Bent and Nick Gallus is yet to be played—we are looking for a suitable stadium that will accommodate the anticipated crowd. Ticket sales will be announced soon.
